Creative Ideas #1: How to Make a Hanging Coconut Bird Feeder

You will need:
~Half a coconut (well-cleaned)
~Lard (or a vegan alternative you can find)
~Bird seeds, raisins etc.

What to do:
~Thoroughly clean the coconut shell if re-using one that birds have previously fed on.
~On a low heat in an old pan gently melt just over a third of a packet of lard (or a vegan alternative you can find)
~Place the coconut shell on a bowl or old takeaway container for stability and to catch spills
~Carefully pour the lard (or vegan alternative you can find), a little at a time, into the coconut shell
~Add seeds, raisins etc.
~Top with a layer of sesame seeds if you have them
~Allow to cool and harden – around 60 to 90 minutes
~Hang in a tree and wait for a bird

Philosophy #20: Pragmatism

Pragmatism is a philosophical tradition centered on the linking of practice and theory. It describes a process where theory is extracted from practice, and applied back to practice to form what is called intelligent practice. Pragmatism is based on the premise that the human capability to theorize is necessary for intelligent practice. Theory and practice are not separate spheres; rather, theories and distinctions are tools or maps for finding our way in the world. Pragmatism holds that an ideology or proposition is true if it works satisfactorily, that the meaning of a proposition is to be found in the practical consequences of accepting it, and that unpractical ideas are to be rejected.

Philosophy #11: Idealism

Idealism is the family of views that asserts reality, or reality as we can know it, is fundamentally mental, mentally constructed, or otherwise immaterial. Idealism maintains that the ultimate nature of reality is based on the mind or ideas. Epistemological idealists might insist the only things that can be directly known for certain are ideas.

Is It Paranoia Or Is It Becoming Reality?

Sometimes in glimpses of moments my mind’s eye imagines the hint of paranoia I have about the global dismemberment happening. I talk about a lot of truths, “conspiracy theories” and our free speech and our freedoms as free humans beings are being taken away one by one; flaking off one by one. This makes me wonder if in the future my destiny is to live in a prison cell for speaking my own mind. What a sad state of the world where it appears to be headed.. into a censored, lifeless existence in a society I don’t feel I belong to, and I know there are many others who feel the same. Sometimes we haven’t got the financial or situational opportunity to venture to the jungle and think we can start a new life. I believe in possibilities and know that anything is possible, life finds its way back to the light somehow… it needs to evolve and grow. Hope, holding onto quick sand or is it paranoia or is it the becoming reality?

This Ignorance

“One who knows not who he is and to what end he was born; what kind of world this is and with whom he is associated therein; one who cannot distinguish Good and Evil, Beauty and Foulness, Truth and Falsehood, will never follow Reason in shaping his desires and impulses and repulsions, but will in one word go about deaf and blind. Is there anything new in all this? Is not this ignorance the cause of all the mistakes and mischances of men since the human race began?”- Epictetus
