Spirituality #12: Astral Projection

The concept of astral projection hinges on the belief that in addition to our physical bodies, humans also have an “astral body,” which is sometimes referred to as an etheric body, subtle body, or light body. This might also be thought of as your “soul.” In many esoteric practices, there is also something called an “astral plane” — and it’s through this plane that people can explore during astral projections. The astral plane is considered to be the home of not only souls finding their way to their their next life or final resting place, but also angels and spirits. Accounts of astral traveling are found in cultures from all around the globe and throughout history, and it’s also commonly practiced today in modern-day mystic and spiritual practices.

Astral projection or astral traveling is the ability to allow your light body (or what I call our ‘traveling’ selves), to venture beyond the physical body and project itself to a specific place, and even particular sites in time.

Spirituality #11: Lucid Dreaming

“Access to mystical realms is not reserved for the sages alone. Each night in dream time you have an opportunity to transcend the mundane and fly among all creation. Sleep is the state that unites all beings. A delicate respite of vulnerable slumber that we must all succumb. It is a mini death, entering the unknown landscape and the rebirth that morning brings. For those adventurous enough to transcend the material world, a portal to the universe awaits.

The most basic of human functions is the need for sleep. Yet deep within this nebulous state, awaits an opportunity for profound healing and spiritual evolution.

Lucid dreaming is a gate on any consciousness explorer’s journey.

Lucid dreams offer the quickest and most direct pathway to our spiritual destiny. Lucid dreaming is a state of consciousness, when we are aware that we are dreaming. Some might suggest it gives us the ability to control our dreams; this view is driven by ego. Lucid dreaming is best understood as a spiritual state present within each of us that heightens our human experience.

Dreams are our birthright and grant us access to the most potent channels of healing and spiritual enlightenment.”

Religion #17: Santeria

“Santeria (The way of the Saints) is an Afro-Caribbean religion based on Yoruba beliefs and traditions, with some Roman Catholic elements added. The religion is also known as La Regla Lucumi and the Rule of Osha.

Santeria incorporates elements of several faiths and so is what’s called a ‘syncretic’ religion. It has grown beyond its Yoruba and Catholic origins to become a religion in its own right, and a powerful symbol of the religious creativity of Afro-Cuban culture.

The centre of the religion is Cuba, but it has spread to the USA and other nearby countries, particularly after the Cuban revolution in 1959.

For a long time Santeria was a secretive underground religion, but it’s becoming increasingly visible in the Americas:

Once dismissed as a ghetto religion practiced only by the Caribbean poor and uneducated, Santeria has a growing following among middle-class professionals, including white, black and Asian Americans.

There are police officers in New York who pray to Obatala, the father of all deities, or orishas, before they slip on their gun belts.

There are lawyers and professors, civil servants and musicians whose homes are filled with altars laden with flowers, rum, cake and cigars to keep the gods happy and helpful. Many dress in white to symbolize purity.

Revolutionary Cuba clamped-down on Santeria at first, but over the last 15 years or so the government tolerated it more and more and now allows it to flourish. Cynics say that this is because Santeria brings considerable hard currency to the island.

It’s difficult to know how many people follow Santeria, as there’s no central organisation, and the religion is often practised in private. Some estimates go as high as a hundred million Santeria believers worldwide.”

Spirituality #6: The Third Eye

The third eye chakra, or Ajna, is the energy center within our bodies that is responsible for intuition, imagination, thought, and self-awareness. Located in the middle of the forehead just above the eyes, the third eye chakra is associated with the color indigo and the pineal gland within the brain. This chakra helps to regulate the energy associated with insight and wisdom.

Signs of your third eye opening

Your dreams become more vivid and you can remember them better. You feel peaceful. You feel beings. You see beings. You often have deja vu experiences. You hear things other people don’t. You have visions or see things others don’t. You feel the need to meditate more. You become more creative and you’re full of creative ideas. You know something before it happens. You know what your goal is in this life. You met your guide or feel you’re being guided. You feel other people’s emotions. You see auras. You often have a gut feeling (intuition). You have a tingling feeling near your third eye chakra. You (sometimes) see energy flow through the room.

Poetry #66: Let Me Show You Who You Are

I hear your cries

Screaming from within

I wish I could hold you

And split my consciousness

Into another body

Into somebody, myself

And tell you, you are my kin

And give you a kiss on the chin

I’d lift your face upto the sun

And show you who you are

Beaming

I know you’re drowning in pain and screaming

At least acknowledge the eternal

Light

Seeming to be gleaming

Within the sacred heart and the seat of your soul

Truth be told

I’ll show you who you are

I lift your face into the sun again

Until golden light has taken over every inch

Light forevermore.

Junk DNA

“WE HUMANS ONLY USE APPROXIMATELY 3% OF OUR DNA, ACCORDING TO GENETICISTS WORLDWIDE.

THE REMAINING 97% IS CONSIDERED “JUNK DNA.”

THE DOUBLE HELIX DNA STRAND STRUCTURE WE ARE MOST COMMONLY FAMILIAR WITH HOLDS ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF INFORMATION.

DESPITE OUR DNA BEING THE HOME TO LARGE AMOUNTS OF DATA, THE MAJORITY OF IT IS STILL CONSIDERED EXTRANEOUS BY SCIENCE.

YET WHAT IF THIS DATA WASN’T JUNK AT ALL BUT ACTUALLY EMBEDDED WITH INFORMATION & POTENTIAL NOT YET DISCOVERED?

THIS QUESTION, ITS THEORY, AND ITS PRACTICE HAS BROUGHT SPIRITUAL DNA ACTIVATION & QUANTUM HEALING TO THE FOREFRONT OF SCIENTIFIC & SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT IN THIS 21ST CENTURY.”

Guest Post: Curiosity Is A Movie

http://shewrites170.home.blog

CURIOSITY IS A MOVIE
Curiosity is a movie
Which takes you to places
And people you didn’t expect.
Being a curious explorer
And being flexible to changes
Can take you higher than your plans.
When you stop trying to control everything
And let life be and let destiny take control
While delivering your best
That’s when magic starts unfolding.
Be curious like a child
Who is not limited by rules
Strong like an agent
And fight it out.
The world is yours to play.

Shamanism #1: Shape-Shifting

The Art of Shapeshifting

“I feel the wind flowing around my wing feathers as I float in the air suspended by the invisible breeze. I look down and see the forest below me, then briefly toward the horizon. I flap my wings a few times, moving into the flow of air and soar even higher! My human body is somewhere, but I pay it no mind right now. My consciousness is here, now, in this other physical being. I am Hawk!”

We hear folk tales and fairy tales that describe how men and women transform into animals or vice-versa. The Frog Prince comes to mind, as does the Irish tale of the Selkie (as in the movie, The Secret of Roan Inish) where a seal comes to the land and shape-shifts into a woman. A young man falls in love with her, hides the sealskin so she won’t be able to return to the sea, and they marry. Yet she pines to return to the sea and eventually finds the hidden skin, puts it around her like a cloak and immediately shape-shifts back to being a seal. Other tales abound of humans who become wolves or other animals, such as werewolves or weretigers—a recent comical version being the Nick Parks movie, Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

Children playing will spontaneously growl like a bear, spread their arms as if in flight, or crawl along on the ground lizard-like. As adults we often smile and take delight in observing children in these games, and if we tap into our own inner child we may even join them. We’ll tend to write off this kind of play as childhood imagination. In doing so, however, we denigrate the incredible power of imagination and how it can open up realms that are beyond the usual senses. Consider imagination as extending beyond our immediate physical self and consciousness into the energy field of the world around us and different dimensions and possibilities become available, ones in which we can extend our “self” into.

There are many stories of shamans who have mastered this ability to shift their form and consciousness into animal-beings because they have not limited their imaginative capacity to the degree that those of us in modern civilization have been conditioned. Indigenous peoples not only lived in the natural world but were of it and intimately connected to the earth-beings both physically and spiritually.

Shamans had a particular gift of being able to transit across the usual boundaries of the self by sending their soul (or consciousness) via the shamanic journey into non-ordinary reality. There they would contact various spirit guides, including spirit animals, that assisted them with sustaining their tribe or community by helping them with healing, finding food sources, weather magic, and various other kinds of guidance.

Shamans had a specialized relationship with an animal spirit guide that was their power animal (they often had more than one) that served to guide and protect them in both ordinary and especially non-ordinary reality. They were known to shift their consciousness into the body and being of that animal, sometimes actually becoming the animal while still retaining their primary human consciousness. They would also commonly allow their power animal to cohabit their human form so their power animal could experience what it was like to be human for a while. This mutual arrangement was a way of honoring their power animal and deepening that relationship. The art of shapeshifting was a fact, not merely a theory or fantasy.

With the increasing interest and practice of shamanism in the past few years, more people are learning how to journey and are discovering their power animals. Yet you don’t have to be an expert at shamanic practices to get a sense of what shapeshifing is all about. You just have to be willing to open your mind, heart, and allow your imagination to lead the way.

One simple exercise to try is to call on any animal spirit guide with whom you have an affinity (doesn’t have to be a power animal), sit or lie down, close your eyes, take a couple of deep breaths, and invite this animal spirit to come into your body and consciousness. Notice how you feel. Can you feel the fur, feathers, or skin of the animal? Can you see with their eyes? Hear with their eyes? Any emotions come up? Just simply observe all of this for just a few minutes, then thank the spirit animal and release them.

The power of imagination is limitless and is what will help us remember our forgotten intimacy with all of life here on earth. Shapeshifting to any degree is one way to help us rediscover that memory at a very profound level.”
