Poetry #106: Tales Of Mask

Masks to deceive

Masks to disguise

Masks to hide the split personality inside

Masks to suffocate with lack of air

Masks to make some feel fair

Masks to trance

In African tribal dance

Masks to symbolise initation

Masks to conceal devastation

Masks to paint our face

Masks to protect our identity

They think they know us so well

Behind this mask we dwell

We hide behind an empty screen

Things are so different from what is seen

These tales of old disguisings

Human kind has history in hiding.
